Murcia al Vino “Drunken Goat” Cheese, approx. 2.5kg
Murcia al Vino, often known as Drunken Goat Cheese, is made from pasteurised goat’s milk and is one of Spain’s most distinctive cheeses. Each wheel is bathed in red wine for two to three days, allowing the cheese to absorb subtle wine flavours and giving the rind its characteristic deep purple-red colour.
After the wine bath, the cheese is matured for around 3 months to develop a smooth, creamy texture and a buttery flavour with a delicate salty finish and mild aroma. This Spanish goat’s cheese is delicious served in slices on a cheeseboard, or paired with fresh fruit, quince paste and mixed nuts for a classic tapas-style snack.
